If you are looking to see how the Platy 2.0L bottle compares to other water bottles, check out my summary article. This test shows how the Platy 2.0L bottle heats up fast. That means the temperature of the water went up 29.9 degrees! The Platy 2.0L bottle is not made to keep drinks cold, so it was not a surprise to see the cold water go up rapidly in temperature. After 12 hours, I checked the temperature of the water with a meat thermometer (the same way I had been) and the temperature was 72.9 degrees. I, then, checked the temperature of the water every hour for the next 12 hours and once at the 24-hour mark. I filled the flexible bottle with 18 ounces of water that was 46 degrees Fahrenheit and set the bottle inside my kitchen, which was around 70 degrees in temperature (The temperature of the kitchen fluctuated throughout the 24-hour period). You will not have to worry about the Platy 2.0L flexible water bottle leaking on your hiking, hunting, or camping trip. The Platy bottle is 100% leak proof, according to my test. The measurement from the top of the water to the top of the water bottle was still the same, at 8/16 th of an inch. After 24 hours, I opened the water bottle and there was no water lost. I, then, ensured I screwed the cap on real tight and laid the water bottle completely on its side for 24 hours. Leak Test:įor the leak test, I filled the flexible water bottle with water and measured from the top of the water to the top of the water bottle, which was 8/16 th of an inch. Lastly, I tested to see if the Platy bottle could survive a swing with a baseball bat! Please see below for results. Next, I tested to see how durable the Platy bottle was. The second test I put the Platy bottle through was a temperature test. In order to really see what the Platy 2.0L bottle could handle, I ran some tests. (How dare you treat your grandma like that, she may end up with a wet butt!!)
